165th VICTORY DAY OF BABU VEER KUER  SINGH CELEBRATED WITH ENTHUSIASM

A two day 165th Victory Day of Babu Kuer Singh has been celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bhojpur district on from April 23, 2023 to April 24, 2023 jointly by Arts, Culture and Youth Affairs department, Government of Bihar and Bhojpur district administration at Veer Kuer Singh Quila Maidan, Jagdishpur, the birth place of foremost freedom fighter of the first war of Independence in the year 1857 and Veer Kuer Stadium Ramana Maidan.

Ara, 23 April 2023, (RNI): A two day 165th Victory Day of Babu Kuer Singh has been celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bhojpur district on from April 23, 2023 to April 24, 2023 jointly by Arts, Culture and Youth Affairs department, Government of Bihar and Bhojpur district administration at Veer Kuer Singh Quila Maidan, Jagdishpur, the birth place of foremost freedom fighter of the first war of Independence in the year 1857 and Veer Kuer Stadium Ramana Maidan. Thousands of students of different schools took out ‘Prabhat Pheri’ from their respective schools that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Kuer Singh Park where the District Magistrate, Raj Kumar, SP Pramod Kumar Yadav and other officers, social workers, professors and teachers garlanded the statue of Babu Kuer Singh. DM and SP inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp and also by unfurling national flag. NCC cadets, Scout and Guide sang national anthem.

A mini marathon race was also organized from Ramapura Sanadiya village that culminated at the Veer Kuer Singh Stadium to mark the occasion and prizes were given to the participants. At Jagdishpur, the birth place of Babu Kuer Singh, the water resource minister, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary garlanded the statue of Kuer Singh in a simple function organized by the district administration.

Bhojpur songs were sung by Bharat Singh Bharati and Kalpana Patwari while a short plays were staged by Uday Narayan Singh and his teams and Nalanda Sangeet Sansthan based on Babu Veer Kuer Singh.

At Jagdishpur, birth place of Babu Veer Kuer Singh, Panchayati Raj Minister Murari Gautam paid homage to Babu Saheb by garlanding his statue there. Speaking on the occasion, Murari Gautam said that Babu Veer Kuer Singh need not any recognition and the state government is determined to preserve his glory and places linked to him.

In Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), was also celebrated with great enthusiasm.  VC, VKS and other professors and students garlanded the statue okf Babu Veer Kuer Singh on the campus of the university.
